If you’ve enjoyed a bottle of my latest vintage – 2011 Secret Blend Red Wine – you’ve probably noticed the great recipes attached to each bottle. One of them, my Lamb Sliders, is so delicious that I just had to share the recipe with everyone here. This just goes to show that food and wine pairings don’t have to break the bank and can be enjoyed on any night!

Ingredients: 2 lbs. ground lamb, 4 tbsp. fresh oregano – finely chopped, 2 tsp. red chili flakes, 4 tsp. fennel seed – toasted and ground, 4 tbsp. roasted red pepper – diced, Kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, 10 thin slices of Roquefort cheese.

Directions: Using your hands, gently combine all ingredients in a large bowl, being careful not to overwork the mixture. Form into 2-inch patties. Heat the grill. Season patties on both sides and grill over medium heat, about 2 minutes per side. Place a burger atop one half of a buttered and toasted brioche bun. Cut thin slices of Roquefort and place on top. Finish by adding the second bun on top. Creates 10 delicious mini-burgers.
